Our safety promise

Peekabug is a game about getting close to small creatures. Here is exactly what it does, and does not do, to keep that safe.

● Likely harmless to people● Be careful● Keep your distance

Every identification gets a safety read

Each identification comes with one of three plain labels: likely harmless to people, be careful, or keep your distance, plus a sentence on why. The label is an AI best guess and is marked as such.

Safety is never paid

The safety read on every identification and the caution list in every Bug Brief are free for everyone, with no daily limit.

What we tell explorers

Look, don’t touch. The app never encourages handling. Bugs are observed, photographed and, in the game, checked into a hotel. Nothing is collected in real life.

What Peekabug does not do

No ads. No chat with other people. No precise or background location, only an optional city-level position. Photos are sent once to be identified and are not stored on our servers. An account is optional and holds only an email address.

Where it can be wrong

AI can misidentify a bug or its risk. Never rely on the app to decide whether a creature is safe to touch or be near. Children should be supervised outdoors. If someone is bitten or stung, seek medical help.
