Pick a place. Read its brief.
The same Bug Brief as in the app, on the web: what has been recorded there this month, what to keep away from, and when the peak is. Built on iNaturalist research-grade observations. Free preview; the full list and the pins live in the app.
What the Bug Brief is
The Bug Brief is a seasonal list for any place on the map. Pick a spot and a month and it shows which insects, spiders and other small creatures have been recorded there in that month, across all years, with the peak months for each species. The counts come from research-grade iNaturalist observations.
The odds are relative: High means a species is recorded more often than the others listed for that place and month. A listing means recorded, not promised. It shows where a bug has been seen, never where it is right now. The caution list covers only the groups Peeka has curated, such as widow and recluse spiders, hornets, fire ants, bark and fat-tailed scorpions and hard ticks, not every species that can bite or sting.
This web preview is free. In the Peekabug app, your local Bug Brief and every safety note are free too, and Peeka Pro adds briefs for anywhere on the map.
